Sex Therapy and IFS: Reconnecting to Intimacy, Confidence, and Self-Compassion

Sexual wellbeing is a vital part of emotional health, yet for many people it remains the area they most struggle to talk about — even in therapy.
When intimacy feels difficult, it can ripple through every part of life: confidence, communication, mood, and self-esteem.

I offer a compassionate, evidence-based approach that integrates Sex Therapy with Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients explore and heal the deeper emotional layers beneath sexual and relational challenges.

What Sex Therapy Can Help With

Sex therapy is for anyone wanting greater connection, pleasure, or confidence — whether you’re in a relationship or exploring this work individually.
Common issues include:

  • Mismatched or low desire

  • Performance anxiety

  • Difficulty with arousal or orgasm

  • Pain during sex

  • Reconnecting to sexuality after trauma or loss

  • The impact of stress, ADHD, or perfectionism on desire

  • Communication and intimacy challenges in long-term relationships

  • Shame, guilt, or religious conditioning around sex

How IFS Deepens Sex Therapy

Traditional sex therapy is an important and necessary discipline. It offers valuable psychoeducation, normalisation, and practical strategies, often including reframes of the limiting and confusing messages many of us have absorbed from our families, culture, and media. These foundations are powerful starting points for change.

But an IFS-informed approach goes even deeper. It helps you understand why your system responds the way it does, and how to meet those internal responses with care rather than judgment.

Within IFS, we recognise that different “parts” of you may hold conflicting beliefs or fears about intimacy and sex. For example:

  • A protective part might shut down desire to avoid rejection or emotional pain.

  • A people-pleasing part might prioritise your partner’s pleasure above your own.

  • An exiled part could carry early shame, fear, or trauma linked to sexuality or identity.

IFS offers a gentle pathway to meet these parts, understand their good intentions, and help them relax and heal. This creates space for Self energy — the calm, curious, confident aspect of you — to lead the way.

When your system feels safe, sexuality becomes something you can inhabit again, not perform or avoid. The result is not only better sex, but a deeper sense of aliveness, confidence, and authenticity in every part of your life.

Who I Work With

I offer a sex-positive, safe, and non-judgmental space.
I am a cisgender woman (she/her), fully LGBTQIA+ affirming, kink-aware, and experienced in working with monogamous, consensually non-monogamous, and polyamorous relationships.

My clients include individuals and couples from all over the world — often high-achievers, professionals, expats, and people who have built full lives but feel something essential is missing in their intimate world.

Ways to Work Together

You can explore this work through:

  • Individual Therapy — for self-discovery, healing, and sexual confidence

  • Couples or Relationship Therapy — to rebuild intimacy, safety, and trust

  • Intensives — deep-dive sessions for accelerated, embodied transformation

Sessions are available online worldwide and in person in Southeast Asia.
